Thank you all who helped the MYL raise funds for World Vision and battle hunger. Because of you we were able to not only reach our goal but exceed it!!! Total funds raised were $1,300. That is enough to feed over 3 families for a year! The food drive to assist our local food pantry was delivered Monday and not a minute too soon. Their shelves were bare also and those involved were very grateful for our support. Thank you again for all the support you give the youth of Messiah and for helping us Know Christ and Make Christ Known.

April 28 and 29 was a busy place at Messiah. Eighteen students and three adults participated in the 30 hour famine in conjunction with the national event by World Vision. The purpose: to bring awareness to the famine and diseases experienced in places like Africa. After lunch at noon on Friday until 6:00 pm Saturday everyone fasted, consuming fruit juice and water. With the assistance of Pastor Jeager the fast was broken with communion Saturday night. Everyone enjoyed the Spaghetti , Mostaccioli and dilly bars afterwards! The students participated in various activities to inform them of what life would be in a place where food is scarce and diseases are in epidemic proportions. The youth raised $1,300 for World Vision prior to the event and collected food during their food drive for our local food pantry.
