Plan to join us on Wednesday evening, March 10, as we continue our Midweek Lenten Series “Christian Martyrs throughout the history of Christianity”. This week’s subject is “Dietrich Bonhoeffer - Standing Up to Injustice”. Wednesday Lenten Midweek services begin at 7:00 PM but make sure to come early to enjoy a delicious supper served by the fellowship committee from 4:30 - 6:45 PM.

The Thursday night Women’s Small Group will be meeting Thursday night, March 11 at 7:00 PM at the home of Denice Doss. We will be playing WII games and enjoying fellowship with one another. Feel free to join us! Please contact Denice or Jeanette Pinion if you plan to attend.

The Cutups will have Easter Cards available this Sunday at the Second Sunday Fellowship.

There will be bell choir practice on Sunday mornings at 11:15 AM (following Sunday School & Bible Class) for the Easter Sunrise Service.

Don’t forget to order your Easter Lily! Lilies are $12.00 each and can be purchased in memory of a loved one or as a thank offering to God and will be used to decorate the sanctuary on Easter morning. There are purple forms provided at each entrance with further details. Please fill in information completely and return to the office by Monday, March 15. Checks can be made payable to Messiah.

YOUTH PRAISE! All junior high, senior high, and college age youth are invited to join us for this month’s Youth PRAISE! event – Thursday at 7:00PM in the basement. We will lift our voices in praise, lift our hearts in prayer, and lift our thoughts to him in devotions. This months theme: JOY! Come and join us for a night of fellowship and modern praise music!

MYL ROAD RALLY!! MYL will be having a Road Rally on Saturday March 20th beginning at 2:00PM. We will travel across the Sterling/Rock Falls area collecting items and following clues to complete a specified course, and it promises to be a lot of fun for everyone! PLEASE sign up in teams of 3 or 4 by March 17th! Each team will also have one ADULT driver. Cost is $10 a person and there will be prizes for the winners!! See Andrew for details. This is NOT a race, but a challenge to compete the course as close to a secret time goal!

So far for 2010 our church expenses have exceeded income. This is partly due to high utility costs of $2,500 in January and $3,000 in February plus weekly offerings for the year have been less than the amount needed to meet the budget. Your help in keeping us out of the red is appreciated.

APRIL NEWSLETTER DEADLINE is next week: Please have newsletter information to the church office by WEDNESDAY (March 17) afternoon or email to hrm33@comcast.net by Friday (March 19).

GROUP LEADERS: Do you have the dates of your events on the church calendar? If you want them on the newsletter calendar (correctly), make sure Shari has your information by Wednesday, March 17. Thank you!

Christ Lutheran School will be holding a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, March 20 from 7:00 to 11:00 AM. Cost is a free-will donation. The menu consists of pancakes, pork sausage, scrambled eggs, applesauce, coffee, milk & orange juice.

ATTENTION CRAFTERS: Christ Lutheran School will be holding a Craft Fair on Saturday, March 27th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Booth Spaces are approximately 10X10 and include one 8 foot table.
