The September Voters Meeting has been re-scheduled to Sunday, September 19. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend!

Due to the Labor Day holiday, the September Elders meeting has been moved to Monday, September 13.

MYL MIDWEEK is Wednesday, September 8 from 7 - 9 PM. Come find out what chop sticks have to do with sin!

PARADE #2 - The Fiesta Days parade is next Saturday, September 11 at 2:00 PM. Our entry name is “Fruit of the Spirit” and Messiah members are needed to walk or ride. There is a sign up sheet in the entry at the parking lot entrance. Please join us for this fun event! Participants are asked to meet at Messiah at 1:00 PM.

Rise at dawn LIVE in concert! Saturday, September 11, local Christian rock band, rise at dawn will be performing at CLS. This FREE concert is an all-ages show, and we encourage you all to attend. The show begins at 6:00PM with a performance by Andrew Nelson, and then rise at dawn will follow. There will be concessions available, and a free will donation will be accepted to help benefit the ministry CLS provides in our community. Did we mention it’s FREE? MYL WATER SKI DAY will be Sunday, Sep 12. We will meet at church at 1:45PM and then go to Bruce and Gloria Kunde’s house for some water skiing and outdoor fun. Please sign up in the youth room so we know how many to expect. We will be done around 6:00PM.

Make plans to join the 3M’s for their next adventure on September 14! The destination is Anderson Gardens in Rockford with lunch at the Japanese Restaurant. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board.

The LWML Fall Joy Shop will be held on October 2 at Good Shepherd in Rock Falls. Registration cost is $6.00. Coffee time begins at 9:00 AM with the Joy Shop from 9:30 AM to Noon. Reservations can be made by calling 815-625-3376 by September 29.

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO FEED YOUR SOUL? Our adult small groups are always open, but with the start of a new school year, there’s no better time to join a small group. If you are 18 and older, we have a group for you! Be on the lookout for small group sign-ups in the narthex!

Parents of College students: If your student would like to receive the Messenger while they are away at college, let the church office know their school address.

Choir is tentatively scheduled to start practice on Wed. Sept. 8 at 6:30 PM. Watch the bulletin for further updates.

Radio Sponsors are needed! We currently need sponsors for September 26 and all of October. The cost is $200 a week. Do you have something to be thankful for, or somebody to remember, or something to celebrate? This is the perfect opportunity to do so. If several families want to go together, that would be great! Just mark your envelope RADIO. Let Shari (church office) know if it is for something special.

Parkway Center, located at 1801 Avenue G in Sterling will be hosting their annual Fall Festival on Saturday, September 18th from 10:00 - 2:00. The Festival offers kid’s carnival, bounce house, petting zoo, bean bag tournament, bake sale and more, fun for the entire family! Call 626-1121 for more information.
