PASTOR LUSSKY CALLED AGAIN

In the fall of 1886 Pastor Lussky of Hopkins was asked to assume charge of the Sterling congregation again in addition to his rural charge. This he agreed to do, first as vacancy pastor and then from early 1887 on as the regularly called pastor for both parishes. He discharged this responsibility through May of 1890 when he followed a call to Ottawa, Illinois. By the end of 1890 the membership had increased to 91 communicants and 177 souls. Pastor Lussky was almost 90 years old when he shared much information from his diaries, etc. with Pastor Mueller in his reconstruction of the early years of parish activity. He answered the call of his Lord January 2, 1945 at the age of 94.
