Three Shields

As we ascend the stairs to the main church entrance the eye is naturally lifted to three beautiful stone symbols carved on stone shields. The Baptismal Font, the Open Bible and the Chalice and Host of the Holy Communion represent the Means of Grace, the instruments or means through which God offers and gives the grace of His forgiveness in Christ Jesus to repentant sinners.

And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name (Acts 22:16, NIV).

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16, ESV).

[Jesus said] These are the Scriptures that testify about Me. (John 5:39, NIV).

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.
