The Ark of the Church

The holy ark of Chistendom

The Father's WORK OF PRESERVATION has been pictured by an ark or ship preserved through a storm. This ark represents the individual, as well as the Church."

[God preserved Noah and his descendants (Genesis 6:9-9:29).] By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. (Hebrews 11:7, NIV).

God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 3:19-21, ESV).

[God preserved Israel in the wilderness.] And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Your clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years. Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you. (Deuteronomy 8:3-5, ESV).
